Office at Morrison Yard

The office building at Morrison Yard is a 12-story, 148,000-square-foot Class A tower on Charleston’s Upper Peninsula, set at the foot of the Ravenel Bridge with views across the Cooper River. It anchors the Morrison Yard district alongside the hotel and the residential community, and it is home to Origin’s own offices at 850 Morrison Drive.

The land was once owned by the South Carolina Ports Authority, and the architecture pays homage to that history. The building’s form recalls a shipping container being lifted by a gantry crane. The office floors rise on angled steel columns roughly 45 feet above a public plaza, which keeps the ground level open and preserves views to the water for everyone passing beneath it.

Delivered in 2022, the building brought a new scale of Class A office space to the peninsula and set the design standard for the rest of the district.
